St. Michael Medical Center has been recognized by the American Heart Association for its commitment to improving patient outcomes for heart disease and stroke through the Get With The GuidelinesĀ® initiative.
The Silverdale hospital was among 54 in Washington honored this year for consistently following up-to-date, research-based treatment protocols aimed at saving lives and reducing recovery times for people experiencing heart disease or stroke. Heart disease and stroke are the No. 2 and No. 5 causes of death in Washington, respectively.

The Get With The GuidelinesĀ® program recognizes hospitals for meeting or exceeding national standards in categories such as stroke, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation. More than 4,800 hospitals nationwide participate in the initiative.
