Enoch City Arts will present the West Coast premiere of “The North Platte Canteen,” a new Broadway-bound musical inspired by the true World War II story of Nebraska residents who welcomed millions of servicemen traveling through the town by train.
The production will run at the Olympic College Theatre in Bremerton across three weekends from Sept. 25 through Oct. 10.
Created by Sue Fabisch Errico and Broadway veteran Johnny Rodgers, the musical blends 1940s swing music with contemporary musical theater and tells the story of the North Platte Canteen, where volunteers provided food, coffee and encouragement to troops passing through during World War II.
“The North Platte Canteen is more than a musical — it’s a joyful reminder of the power of compassion and what happens when everyday Americans choose kindness,” said Ann Bonner, artistic director and founder of Enoch City Arts.
Tickets are available through Enoch City Arts.
