The Point Casino & Hotel has named Marc Papaj as its new general manager, according to an announcement from Noo-Kayet Investments, the economic development entity of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe.

Papaj joins the Kingston casino and hotel property after serving in executive leadership roles with Seneca Gaming Corporation, most recently as general manager of Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in Buffalo, New York. Over a 30-year hospitality and gaming career, he has held leadership positions at properties in Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and New York.

A member of the Seneca Nation, Papaj said the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe’s culture and community values attracted him to the position.

“The Point Casino & Hotel offers something unique,” Papaj said in the announcement. “It isn’t corporate, you can feel the spirit of the community here.”

Papaj earned a degree in hospitality administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and later completed dual MBA degrees through Cornell University and Queens University. He also received Cornell’s Akwe:kon Indigenous Graduate Student Award recognizing leadership and community service.

According to the announcement, Papaj will oversee continued guest experience enhancements at the property, including a new gaming management system, a rebranding of the player rewards club and the return of the Summer Sounds Concert Series.
